Morning Routine

Either you run the day or the day runs you.

There are a couple of things that are non-negotiable for me, sleep and routine. They set you up for success and set the tone for all areas of life. Every single morning looks almost identical for me.

My morning routine actually starts the night before, and I am not even going to tell you it is easy…but no phone for at least 30 minutes before lights out.  We are all guilty of mindless scrolling, and it’s the biggest time waster ever. I follow this into my morning. I want to be a dictator of my time, not a reactor. Plus, I want to make the most of my time and be as productive as possible.

The Slight Edge by Jeff Olson. This book is one that everyone should read. Lots of useful+practical lessons anyone can apply to move your life forward. Always remember, your mindset work is never done! 

High Vibes

If you’ve been around long, you know that there is absolutely no time for bad vibes over here. Coming into a new year can always be refreshing and overwhelming at the same time. You feel me?!

I am actually not currently reading a book at the moment, but rather listening to The Psychology of Winning for the second time, yes, it’s that good. If you are wondering what all I have read this year, check out this post. You know how I feel about positive input, every single day. Do it, you can change who you are and what you are by what you consume. 

Let’s talk books

Truth be told I have never been a “reader.” I only really started enjoying it in late 2017. My problem was that I never could find ones that intrigued me and that I could connect with, or that I wanted to spend my time on. I have never enjoyed reading for as long as I can remember. TEB cringes at the thought of me never wanting to read Harry Potter. Um, no thank you, no time for that. One of my goals for 2018 was to read one book each month. I am happy to report, smooth sailing so far.

I like books that are going to help me be a better person. Ones that will help me be a better wife, friend, daughter, and leader. Positive daily input matters so so much.

Dennis Waitley: The Psychology of Winning  I am actually listening to this for the second time. This is an incredible self-development book. You win or lose in life. The game of life is the biggest most important game you can play, because you are never going to get it back. Whenever you hear (or read) something over and over, and internalize it, it becomes your subconscious and part of who you are. Same reason I love daily affirmations! This is a must!

I’m gonna give it to you straight… Thanksgiving is 3 weeks away, and you’ve still got plenty of time to prepare and pull this off if you are hosting! It’s actually my fav holiday of all. It’s like time slows down and everyone can enjoy each others company. But we all know,  the holidays can be a mixed bag: incredibly joyous—spending time with friends and family, eating delicious food, taking a bit of well-deserved time off—but it can also be stressful.
