our birth story, part two✨ On the ride to the h our birth story, part two✨

On the ride to the hospital I remember thinking I was in a dream that this couldn’t be happening. My (type A) plan was perfect, my pregnancy was perfect, how could this be?!

We get to the hospital and my OB is already there waiting on us, and angel labor and delivery nurse @emily_campbell_mrskyus2019 too! Much to their surprise that I was there— they’d both cheered me on my entire pregnancy and supported our decision to do a home birth! We ended up having a gentle c-section with my OB. Come to find out baby boy couldn’t move any farther bc his little cord was wrapped under one thigh around the other 😭🤍

Over 24 hours in natural labor trying to move him down was the most exhausting, hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life!

Not AT ALL what we had planned but in the end it worked out and I’m at peace about it bc I know we did everything we could have possibly done and my body labored perfectly.

I’m so thankful to have been able to naturally labor at home and make it as far as we did! Thankful @painfreebirth prepared me for that!

I was in the most pain from surgery and most exhausted I’ve ever been in my whole life but he’s worth it and I know it’s temporary!

This is something I am very much still processing and taking a day at a time. Although, we did have a gentle c-section plan just in case, this recovery is not something I had planned or prepared for so that’s another thing we are navigating!

Thank you for your continued support and prayers🤍

Labor and birth is the most spiritual thing I’ve ever experienced, the presence of the Lord was so evident. I’ve learned that labor, birth, and motherhood is all about surrendering.

A special thank you to our birth team:

our birth story, part one ✨ planned home birth our birth story, part one ✨

planned home birth turned gentle c-section

Labor started the afternoon of 06/13 around 2:45pm while I was bouncing on the labor ball cleaning out my desk, funny enough, this was the last thing I wanted to mark off my list before baby. I text TEB and told him I thought I was having contractions— we started timing them after he got home and he went ahead and put air in the birth pool. As the evening went on, contractions started to get more and more intense and closer together.

Our midwife and doula came around 8pm and got everything else set up. I labored all night long until the evening of 06/14 moving from the pool to the floor, to the toilet, to the bed. Doing whatever felt comfortable. Thankfully, I’d lost all track of time and felt totally in the labor zone bc TEB had the best birth playlist going, rotating it with @christianhypnobirthing tracks, the lights were low, it was calm and I was supported.

At around 5:30 that evening— we knew something was up— I’d been at 8-8.5cm for HOURS and in labor for 26 at that point, they’d pulled out all the tricks to help baby boy move farther down and it just wasn’t happening. I was beyond exhausted, mentally and physically.

After a few conversations and tears—we decided to transfer to the hospital at that point. I was upset, sad, and defeated, but realized the best thing I could do was surrender my plan for the Lords. I held on to the affirmation: I accept the path God has for our baby’s birth.

Continued in part 2….

Everything seems super important until you’re si Everything seems super important until you’re sick or don’t feel 💯

What if instead of viewing your health as an expense you viewed it as an investment… one of the best investments you could ever continually make.

IMO: if you don’t have your health, you have nothing.

Do you agree?!

Your health is made up of:

✔️the things you think about
✔️the food you eat + the drinks you drink
✔️the habits you have
✔️the people you surround yourself with
✔️the things you consume: tv, music, books
✔️the products you use
Etc

And the best part— you have control over all of those.

Your health impacts literally everything— how you show up for your family, friends, work, etc. it all comes back full circle somehow, good or bad. 🔁🔄♾️🌀🌪

What you are accepting, you are choosing. 🤍
