Gift guide: Sarah’s picks

JACKET | LE CREUSET | FLATWARE | ROBE | SILK PILLOWCASE | APOLIS BAG |
GRAY PURSE | BLACK NIKES

We all know that it is better to give than to receive, but who doesn’t love receiving a dang good gift?! That’s right, we ALL love to give and receive a good gift.

I will be putting together a few gift guides, but for now here are my top picks!

Pro tip: throughout the year if I see something I want but don’t want to buy for myself or someone else immediately, I add it to the notes section of my iPhone to refer back to later.

Vegan leather jacket –This one is at the top of my list, love that the hood is removable.

White Le Creuset –I’ve had my eye on this for a very LONG time. Finally put it on my list especially with my new oven on its way! It’s a must have!

Gold flatware –Yes, please. Also something I’ve wanted for a really long time, just couldn’t find any I loved! Thanks, Target!

Barefoot Dreams robe –This brand came highly suggested when I asked on instagram stories for robe suggestions. I’ll admit, it does look super cozy, but I think I would smother. I also want one that is not long sleeves. I’ve got stipulations, y’all. Eyeing this simple one from Target!

Silk pillowcase  –Have it and love it so much that I need a second. This is for sure one of the things that helps me wash my hair once a week. Yes, once.

Apolis bag –So dang cute and love that it’s customizable. Y’all know I love a company on a mission, and this is for sure a purposeful purchase!

Purse –I have been looking for a new bag for a while. Love the gold detailing on this one!

Black tennis shoes –I recently tried this pair on and knew they had to go on my list. True to size and SO comfortable.

Can you tell I am a lover of all things gray, gold, black, and white?! More gift guides to come, stay tuned!

Self-Tan Routine, The Safer Way

Recently over on insta stories I was raving about my new favorite safer self-tanner, Beauty By Earth. Last spring+summer I used another safer brand called Chocolate Sun that I liked ok, but didn’t love. So, this year I was determined to find one that performed better than Chocolate Sun and was also safe!

After two applications, I can say Beauty By Earth is a WIN in my book. It gives you a nice, even natural glow with some color, but not turning you orange. It also doesn’t smell like most sunless tanners do.

The key to a successful sunless tan is all in the routine. It may seem like a lot, but seriously doesn’t take that much time and is so worth it! This is the exact routine I have been following for a VERY LONG time and it works.

2019 Dirty Dozen + Clean Fifteen, and why you should care.

If you aren’t familiar with the Environmental Working Group, click here to learn who they are and what they do! To sum it up, the EWG is a non-profit, non-partisan organization dedicated to protecting human health and the environment.  That could be an entire blog post itself, but I will spare you!

So, lets get to it…the EWG has updated their dirty dozen and clean fifteen list. This list includes the top twelve conventional (not organic) fruits and veggies that have the highest amounts of pesticide residue. You will want to try (keyword, try) to always buy the items on that list organic. It has changed a tiny bit from last year, so click here to download a pdf to either print or screen shot to save on your phone when grocery shopping!
